We will begin accepting applications for the 2026-2027 academic year on July 1st, 2026. Applicants must have completed a 3-year ACGME-accredited Family Practice Residency and obtain an unrestricted Washington State medical license and DEA by the beginning of the fellowship. Complete applications (including two letters of recommendation) will be accepted until August 15th of each year. Interviews will occur in late September/early October. Applicants should have their applications completed by August 15th to receive full consideration.
As of 2025 we have joined with the other programs in the newly formed Family Medicine Obstetrics Fellowship Directors’ Association (FMOB-FDA) in a standard recruitment timeline:
• July 1, 2026: Application opening date
• August-September: Standard/ideal timeframe to conduct interviews
• On or before their interview day, programs will ask applicants to agree to hold no more than 1 fellowship offer for more than 72 hours
• On or before their interview day, programs will ask applicants to agree to notify all programs at which they have interviewed when they accept a position elsewhere
• Sept 30, 2026: Target date for programs to finish interviews
• October 1, 2026: Target date for programs to make initial offers to applicants
• Oct 12, 2026: Date before which programs will not require applicants with an offer from their program to respond. (They will hold their spot for them until that date)
• 72 hours: Minimum time frame to be granted by programs to applicants for a decision on a fellowship offer, before offering the spot to another applicant. (This includes any offers made after October 9, 2026).
Please note there are no restrictions against offering spots to applicants earlier in the recruitment process, or against filling a spot earlier if an applicant accepts your offer. Ideally, candidates will be able to choose their preferred program and programs will be able to choose their preferred candidate(s) - and we will all matriculate fellows who truly wish to train at our programs!
